Speech to be given at second annual Radiodays North America conference.
Lorna Clarke, the Director of Music at the BBC, is scheduled to give a keynote speech at the international radio, podcast and audio conference taking place Monday, June 3, 2024 at 9 a.m. at the Westin Harbour Castle Hotel in Toronto for Canadian Music Week (CMW).
Radiodays North America (RDNA) says Clarke will discuss the future of linear music radio and how the BBC is tackling the changing nature of audio consumption.
Clarke has worked with the BBC on and off since 1985 in radio and music. As current director of music, Clarke is responsible for BBC Radio’s music strategy and overseeing live events, music television commissioning, visualisations and the portfolio of five national popular music networks.
Clarke is known for fostering new talent at the BBC such as Raye, a British singer-songwriter, through BBC Radio 1.
“We are so excited to present this rare opportunity to hear directly from one of the UK’s most senior music and media executives,” said Neill Dixon, General Manager of Radiodays North America. “Lorna’s insights into how radio has adapted to the popularity of streaming services, and how broadcasters continue to work closely with the music industry to create impactful cultural moments, will be priceless to Radiodays North America attendees. As a bonus to our Music Delegates, your music badge will allow you entry into this special session as well.”
